In theory, the difference between a priest and a scientist is that the priest is spreading what they believe to be the truth and the scientist is supposed to be seeking the truth whatever it may be. I think in reality, the scientist and the priest are a lot more similar than we would like to think. The deeper you go into science, the more it looks like religion and vice versa. Where science is about removing ego and being humble enough to challenge oneself and ideas in search of an objective truth, sometimes the most humble people who have truly released their ego are those that are religious. They have submitted to truths beyond what they can even understand and accept their limitations and insignificance, where the scientists clings to their theories like divine truths and imagine themselves as gods of genius. πŸ€”

Would you like to hear a theory that makes following a religion an empirical decision ?

One is empirical, the other isn’t. One surrenders to the unknown, the other one to the known. Any scientist who clings to theories as divine truths, is not a good representation. A theory is precisely that, and that only.
