The name comes from the crypto term 'degen', short for 'degenerate gambler', often used to describe risk-takers in the crypto space. It was born out of our community's love for meme coins and has some distinct features. For starters, there was an initial airdrop of Degen tokens. Plus, unlike some other tokens, Degen allows you to distribute tokens given to you by the Degen project, not from your personal allocation. It's a pretty fun way to engage with the community.
