How do you think it’ll compare to local and open source modeling?

apple is embedding AI deeply into the framework of its OS
unless open-source can catch up to apple’s hardware/ integration/ security within the next 1-3 years, the two won’t be able to compete effectively. imo as long as my local models continue to run on apple clusters, apple will remain the clear leader in this space.

No worries, there was no urgency to my question!

I'm watching things unfold over time as I daily drive Apple products yet want to one day transition to fully local and FOSS software (via /homelabs) and good AI is important for me.

All this to say I hope I can use my M2 Mini in a meaningful way in this context!
