I remember sitting in the audience at an AI summit and one of the panelists was firmly convinced that open source AI has no future, as all AI developers are migrating big players like Google and OpenAI for several 100k/year anyway. And here I am, running models like Mixtral locally on my Mac, outperforming GPT 3.5 π«£
