There are two categories of property in the country: “things in possession” (gold, money, cars) and “things in action” (debts, shares). MakerDAO announced it is renaming itself "Sky" As part of the rebranding, a new stablecoin USDS and a governance token SKY will be released. They will be available on September 18th with a new DeFi application. DAI and MKR will remain in circulation unchanged, and new tokens will exist in parallel. Token holders will be able to exchange DAI tokens 1:1 for USDS, and each MKR token can be exchanged for 24,000 SKY tokens.

SEC intends to temporarily defer consideration of whether some tokens are securities in case against Binance The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) intends to seek permission to amend its complaint against Binance to avoid the need for an immediate court ruling on whether certain tokens are securities. Making these changes will allow the SEC to temporarily put this issue aside and focus on other aspects of the case. In essence, the court will not consider the issue of the legal status of certain tokens. The document does not explicitly say that the SEC is no longer going to prove that these tokens are securities. In the case against Binance, the SEC defined SOL, ADA, MATIC, FIL, ATOM, SAND, MANA, ALGO, AXS and COTI as securities. This amendment may change the definition of these assets.
