I’m a musician exploring blockchain streaming platforms like Audius and Disctopia to generate revenue. Curious to hear other takes on how to monetize music in Web3—what’s working for you? ✌🏻💙

I think the general vibe right now is that nothing’s really clicking. Anyone telling you otherwise is probably gaming the system with fake metrics and sales. I was into what @catalog was doing, and they’ve got a new version in the works, so im keeping an eye on that. I also like what @gordo is experimenting with songs-tools.com, the concept of Wrapped Songs is interesting https://x.com/catalogworks/status/1891926903017083157

The 1/1 only strategy with often very high prices of the beta catalog made no sense for me. And it probably didn't worked, because it was shut down ? Nothing against 1/1 ofc, it depends. The current page is invite-only like the previous. Idk the reason for this, but the question is obviously if it would scale in the sense that it has more users than artists. A website for a single label might have a place ofc, but it's unlikely to be very important for many artists and also many listeners not directed to it by the platforms artist ? Not to talk it down, it looks nice especially compared to many other previous dapps, but each new platform i think should have a reason why it's better than bandcamp etc. I don't see it here. Did i miss something ?
