Most people seem to think it's bad (incl. me) but would be interested in a contrarian take from someone who thinks it's good

That’s insane. But…..I could see the benefit being choice…wider array of people and platforms leads to the ability to find a more compatible mate. Stats on divorce and happiness would have to reflect that but that’s my view. I met my wife in 2003 through a friend so I am old school though.

Learning what I can.  Human and dog dad.  Enjoying the land of ham, tophats and the next new thing I missed already by not being online every hour of the day.

That's a good point, especially if you live in the smaller city it might be hard to be lucky enough to meet the right person
