Mem is really cool, but I found myself going back to Roam. A lot of the "AI" notetaking tools don't always tag data how I would prefer it's tagged, which leads to me manually tagging things anyways

Did you try mymind? It had nice search functionality, that worked properly even with photos. I used it a while ago but even back then didn't need many manual tagging.

mymind is probably not for everyone. Their approach to note taking is different.

Yes! It was actually one of the other AI tools I was thinking of 😄Really good for visual stuff, and their web extension is solid. For text, It runs into the same issue for me. Their AI is -pretty good-, but sometimes I have to play around with the search to find what I'm looking for (if I haven't tagged manually)
