If it wasn’t for social media and the change of power from mainstream media to citizen journalists, SBF wouldn’t have been even one day in court. He bought everyone that mattered back in the day. I wonder how many had a similar story as SBF and nothing happened to them. This is not done though

+1,000,000. pre-web & web1 media: - most readers can't notice misinformation as they don't have enough domain knowledge, - if someone finds out, they don’t have the platform to inform other readers. web2 media: - a swarm of readers with different specializations, - who discuss content via the comments section.

Genuine question in what way is this true? I saw that social media refuted a lot of claims but given the size of the fraud do you think they wouldn’t have brought the case against him? Or do you mean the evidence on social media was critical in his conviction?

I keep saying that social media has actually changed so many times! Especially access to information.
