Threads, Mastodon, Bluesky on the left.
Gab, Parler, Truth Social on the right.
Nostr is Maximalist Twitter.
Lens is also crypto Twitter.

Probably many more I’m missing.

It’s a testament to how well-designed the original Twitter was. And how much people wanted alternatives.

I actually think that these platforms are not theme based but leader based. The theme comes from the leader, not the other way around

I’ve written about this before but the question of who-has-root extends to every other software tool you use. You should only use the software if you broadly trust the leader and their community.

Exactly. Either trust the leader, or if it is only software there is no one to trust. That's why Bitcoin is so important
