The irony is that in the same sentence he says intelligence is a material process and then asks you to believe in human ingenuity Pattern-based intelligence will undoubtedly be replaced by computers - but that is such a myopic view of what the brain and consciousness is capable of Long courage and long creativity!

It used to take lots of people with picks and shovels to build a road. Now many fewer people can do it with machines. Ray Dalio describes it as replacing the human body from the feet up.
