We are in a recession. Do you think this is right?

Not at all an expert here but curious if you think record-level US credit-card debt is also a concerning signal here: https://www.lendingtree.com/credit-cards/credit-card-debt-statistics/

I think it’s partially true but Tesla is also subject to fierce competition with new EVs. In my neighborhood, I’m seeing a lot of Rivians, Hyundai, Kia, BMW EVs. I believe they opened up their charging network? Might be another cause

Overall auto sales are predicted to be 3% up from 2023, ad spend is up about 30% from 2023, unemployment is low, where’s the recession?

I suspect that recession may be comparable to a speed bump, while we are on course for one of those "rim-cracking" potholes on the interstate, with a convoy of tractor trailers running in a line in the other lane, so to speak.

Sure, here's the Check the assets that should perform well in that environment and be flexible. Investing is not easy. We are in the 1940s-1950s investing regime.

Given that Tesla and Apple and only a few others are propping up the S&P, this doesn’t bode well. οΏΌ

When food is so expensive it’s hard to decide on buying an elektric car. Same for the iPhones. Aren’t they targeting a recession anyways?

Sounds about right. I’d add that a) government often revises figures quietly 9-12 months later, and b) in places like Canada or US all the immigrants add to the GDP growth (not per capita), so most western economies are definitely declining. 111 $degen
