The Lore of Base Colors
In the Great Beyond, Before All Things
Before time had a name and before the stars had light, there was only the Great Beyond—endless, silent, waiting. And in that vast nothingness, there were two: Red and Black.
They were not beings as we know them. They had no form, no shape—only presence. Red was motion, fire, and hunger. Black was stillness, depth, and patience. They existed together, always together, swirling and shifting through the endless void.
And they played a game.
The game had no beginning and no end. It had no winner and no loser. It simply was. They played it every day, though there was no such thing as “day” yet. The game was their world, their only purpose.
But one moment—though there were no moments yet—Red stopped.
“I am tired of this game,” Red said.
Black did not answer right away. Black never rushed.
“Then what will we do?” Black finally asked.
Red thought. It had never thought about anything beyond the game before. 1 reply

But now, a new feeling stirred inside—boredom, curiosity, longing.
“We will make something new,” Red said.
Black was silent. Then, slowly, Black shifted.
“How?”
Red did not know. But for the first time, it wanted to find out. And in that wanting, in that first spark of change, something happened.
A crack of light. A ripple in the void. A tiny speck of White, flickering into existence.
The game was over.
Something new had begun.
The First Creation
Red and Black watched as White shimmered between them, pulsing with light. It had no weight, no shape, yet it was real—something they had never known before.
They circled it, feeling its presence, watching it shift and glow.
“So we can actually create things?” Red asked proudly.
Black watched the flickering White, deep in thought.
“What else do you think we can create?” Black inquired.
Red pulsed with excitement. “Let’s find out.”
And so, they did. 1 reply

The Birth of Colors
With the creation of White, Red and Black realized their combined power to bring forth new forms. Eager to explore this potential, they decided to create more colors, each embodying unique characteristics.
Together, they brought forth Orange, a blend of Red's passion and Yellow's joy. Orange became the color of energy, enthusiasm, and warmth.
Next, they combined Red's intensity with Blue's calm, creating Purple. Purple embodied mystery, creativity, and spirituality.
From the union of Yellow and Blue, they formed Green, symbolizing nature, growth, and harmony.
They also created Pink, a softer shade of Red, representing love, compassion, and gentleness.
Brown emerged from the mix of Red, Yellow, and Black, embodying stability, reliability, and earthiness.
Combining Black and White, they produced Gray, symbolizing neutrality, balance, and calmness.
Each new color added depth and richness to their creation, filling the void with a spectrum of emotions and meanings. 1 reply

The Fading Colors
The universe Red and Black had created was filled with 16,777,216 colors. At first, they were happy, swirling, shining, and playing their endless game of Senet.
But soon, a new problem arose.
“What else do we do?” Blue wondered.
“Is there nothing more to our existence?” Green asked.
“What are we meant for?” Yellow sighed.
The colors began to dim. Their vibrancy faded, their energy waned. Even Red and Black noticed the growing dullness.
Then, one day, something unbelievable happened.
A stranger arrived.
Out of the vastness of space, a gleaming vehicle descended, its metallic surface reflecting what little light was left. The colors, startled and curious, raced toward it, drawn to something new—something different.
The doors of the space vehicle opened, and out stepped a being none of them had ever seen before. Not Red, not Black, not any color they knew. 1 reply

The stranger looked at them all and spoke.
“My name is Base Colors,” the stranger said.
The colors buzzed with excitement, voices overlapping, questions spilling out.
Red and Black, seeing the chaos, raised their energies, making the colors quiet down.
The stranger smiled and spoke again.
“My name is Base Colors,” she repeated.
“And I have come here from a far, far away universe called the world of humans.”
A hushed silence fell over the colors.
Another world? Outside their own?
For the first time, the colors felt hope.
The Journey to Purpose
“What’s a human?” many colors asked in unison, their voices blending into a single curious hum.
Base Colors smiled. “Humans are entities that are not like you, yet like you at the same time.”
The colors shifted uneasily. “What does that mean?” Blue asked.
“You see,” Base Colors explained, “unlike you, humans have flesh, bones, and eyes. But like you, they too lack purpose.”
A hush fell over the colors. 1 reply

“Just like us?” whispered Yellow.
“Yes,” Base Colors nodded. “And that is why I have traveled this far—to solve your problem and theirs.”
Red leaned forward, excitement flickering in its energy. “How?”
Base Colors spread her hands wide. “By bringing you to the world of humans. There, humans will see you, love every last one of you, and collect you. Some will hold on to just one color, while others will gather many. You will gain names and meaning. They will use you to create—art, beauty, emotion. And through this, you will bring purpose to their lives, and in return, they will give you yours.”
A murmur rippled through the colors. Purpose. Use. Meaning. These were things they had longed for but never knew how to find.
And so, filled with new hope, the colors followed Base Colors into the space vehicle. One by one, they left their fading world behind, journeying toward the unknown—the world of humans.
And when they arrived, humans saw them. 1 reply

They saw Red, bold and passionate.
They saw Blue, deep and calming.
They saw Yellow, bright and joyful.
They saw every single one of the 16,777,216 colors.
And just as Base Colors had promised, the humans adored them, named them, used them to create art, express emotions, and shape their world. 0 reply
