Every once in a while I come across some mention of my last name. This furniture set is one of the better examples. 

Generations ago, the name was von Hilker. I'm not sure when or why it was changed and my wife strongly refused my attempts to change it back when we got married.

In this context Möbel von Hilker means Furniture from Hilker. I believe his name is Ernst Hilker.

Ha no way. That name sounds familiar, so I will have to look into it. And thanks for the translation. I’ve been told that our history is more Prussian than German, but it’s pretty messy going back any more than a couple generations.
