No one talks about the guilt that comes with depression. You feel guilty for feeling sad, for not being happy, for letting people down. You feel like a burden, like you're failing everyone. Even though you're struggling, the guilt of not being "better" eats at you. But remember: you don't owe anyone an explanation for your mental health, and it's okay to take time for yourself to heal.
