It’s surprising how little interest there still is among mainstream thought leaders in blockchains as a tool to improve global coordination.

The low-hanging fruit IMO is all the national registries (driving licenses, land titles, etc) that would benefit from being merged and made interoperable — especially in the EU for example where I’m surprised there are no common sources of truth, merely somewhat-interoperable systems.

But in the end I expect global coordination to come from the business world (e.g., synchronized supply chains, 24/7 tokenized markets), not from ossified public governance

They don’t want autonomous, permissionless global coordination

What mainstream thought leaders would you say truly understand blockchains, and would you consider @vitalik.eth one such person?
