Is there anyone in the US gov talking seriously about what to do about mass job automation? The “augments” claim already doesn’t hold up for entry level jobs, and is likely to not hold up for all jobs the closer we get to ASI. From Kayla Scanlon’s substack:

Tech hyperbole makes us think we have shorter timelines on all these things. But it’s all good enough today to quit paying salaries of tons of knowledge workers, certainly. Whomever isn’t down or can’t do it will be not so subtly encouraged to die via euthanasia
