I don’t actually believe this. I think this is YC propaganda. https://techcrunch.com/2025/03/06/a-quarter-of-startups-in-ycs-current-cohort-have-codebases-that-are-almost-entirely-ai-generated/

The recent Cursor update, along with Claude 3.7 Sonnet, really seems to be leaning into the vibe coding narrative. I haven’t tested it long enough to say if it’s working, but my first impression is that the Cursor team is pretty ballsy for messing with a good product

Oh I agree that vibe coding is a thing and that things are trending toward code bases being 95% AI coded. However, I highly doubt the current batch in YC is already there.

I also don't believe it's true. I don’t think vibe coding is the direction we should be pushing for. It’s fine to use AI tools like Cursor, but the build process should still help the "product person" get a good understanding of the code. The more you understand, the easier it is to actually bring your product vision to life. It feels like vibe coding is just a marketing term to get more paying customers for tools like Cursor

Hot buzzwords. MCP + Vibe Coding are all the rage. But yeah, I totally agree.
