We need a protocol similar to Farcaster that can serve as home for all the new music being produced worldwide. Imagine all the cool music clients that devs could build. Seems like the only way to truly break free from the monopolistic control exercised by Spotify, YouTube, Apple, and major record labels.

Spotify and Apple, and to some extent YouTube and Amazon, take care of marketing and promotion for musicians. How would you solve that? How do I discover new music that I love?

It's not as if they provide free marketing for all artists on their platform. My suggestion was for the protocol to be decentralized. Clients can still offer discovery features like Spotify and Apple do.

I’m personally really interested in how we can build a creator’s economy where the creators would own the vast majority of rights, users wouldn’t be locked in to a particular platform and discovery would work better than today’s (i.e. we wouldn’t be served only the stuff that friends of our friends like).
