@dwr.eth people talk about warpcast as replacing twitter and reddit all the time, but why don't people talk about it replacing discord more? imo team/product channels (perhaps w a forum UI and great search) is 100x better for feedback, bug fixing, community building etc. i love discord for internal collaboration, but as a place for community and external engagement it's one of the worst products to catch on i think

The comparison to Discord isn't strong because, at the protocol level, all casts on Farcaster are public by default. In contrast, Discord servers are typically used to build private communities. Many FC users say that channels function more like tags than communities

It depends on the type of community you're building. If you're using an FC channel to gather public feedback from your customers, privacy isn't really a big deal. But in a lot of the Discord servers I've been in, especially gaming ones, things wouldn't work out if all the communication was publicly readable by anyone on the web
