We need a protocol similar to Farcaster that can serve as home for all the new music being produced worldwide. Imagine all the cool music clients that devs could build. Seems like the only way to truly break free from the monopolistic control exercised by Spotify, YouTube, Apple, and major record labels.

Why does Farcaster require hubs if storage was already solved by the solutions you mentioned? I’m genuinely curious about this.

As I understand it, Hubs are more than just storing raw data - they need to sync up all the links between casts, validate messages cryptographically, resolve conflicts and so forth. https://docs.farcaster.xyz/protocol/architecture.html
