Warpcast's spam problem is out of control. It's far worse than Twitter, making it difficult to justify building anything on Farcaster. Will give priority mode another try, but that just hides the problem.

Warpcast does not give us the tools/settings to control our experience and decide what to hide. Prority mode, power badge, and channel mod mode are how they think it should work. The spam issue also stems from incentives and who is joining FC + why.

This was with priority off. When I initially used priority mode, I noticed that I was missing some legit notifications so turned it off for that reason.

Is this notification with priority mode on?

I've been muting and reporting, but it doesn't seem to be working. It actually feels like things are getting worse.

I had to mute 4 profiles that kept tagging me anywhere anytime in these 2 days.

I saw this because I have priority mode off. I completely agree with you though. If real users with no following are hard to find, they will leave. This doesn't bode well for long-term growth.

All while negatively affecting the experience of real users with no following. You either won’t ever see this cast or won’t interact with it because of the power badge/priority system in place.

It's totally the opposite for me. On Twitter I get fake DM/follow requests. My account is on private so I have some control of my experience. On Warpcast, when you report a cast/profile or when you mute users, the issue just seems to get worse.

You can't moderate channels without solving this issue. The only thing you can do is token-gate everything, defeating the purpose of an open protocol.

Yeah, I hadn't paid attention, so I was in priority mode. There is some crap in the replies, indeed. Should be fixed. For me, though, it's still not as bad as Twitter, where spam is not the only issue.

Which channels are you referring to? I haven't tried @botornot yet, but if they have an LLM solution that is very good at identifying spammy users and casts, I'd be interested in testing it out

Have you looked into @botornot for channel moderation? @sayangel has helped some large channels get moderation under control using LLMs.

ham chain bots are getting excited from the launch

I didn't see any phishers here yet however. The bots are despisable, but at least they don't promise you any airdrops. 
And Twitter, like, it also *hides* the suspisious accounts or posts.
