This makes sense. I can't recall any successful pivots from Web2 to Web3. I used to think PayPal had a good chance but hasn’t looked promising to me.

My big takeaway from this is that incumbent brands have too much to lose by trying to adopt crypto (lots of existing users complaining / churning)

Means more opportunity for new cos that can cater more throughly to crypto natives without having the baggage of convincing an existing customer base (mostly web2)

So from your perspective, smart contracts are the reason Kickstarter is having issues with growth?

I feel like as a platform and a brand they have some sway, but from a technical standpoint, smart contracts make them obsolete. 

But they can still operate in fiat 🤷‍♂️

My understanding is that the issue stems less from regulation, but rather from the fact that Kickstarter users and employees were not supportive of crypto.

I would suspect the regulatory environment would make that operation difficult for a centralized entity.

I suspect we see a crypto crowd funding platform, but it won’t be kickstarter.
