Memecoins are a slap in the face to the serious, technical founders who dismiss brand and storytelling as an unimportant afterthought. That is part of why I love them. The other part is mental illness.

The memes are fun but I don’t think there’s much storytelling going on with memecoins. The main pull/story is free airdrop and price going up. I’m not a memecoin expert though, so maybe there are things happening that I’m not aware of.

There are definitely aspects that can be appreciated, for sure. Memecoins and Farcaster have definitely been making me rethink the definition of proof of work.

Some of them do have very fun branding and stories but tbh this was mostly a shitpost
