💸 I used to be really bad with money. Like “paycheck hits Friday, broke by Monday” bad. Here’s the 7 things I learned that completely turned my finances around (and no, it’s not just “make a budget”) 🧵👇

I stopped ignoring my bank account. Sounds basic, but I used to avoid checking it like it was haunted. Now I check it every morning like brushing my teeth. Awareness is everything.

I got real about my income. For a while I told myself I “deserved” everything I bought. But credit card debt doesn’t care about what you think you deserve.

I built a $1k emergency fund. It wasn’t easy. Took me 4 months. But that little safety net stopped a flat tire from turning into a crisis.

I stopped trying to be perfect. You don’t need a perfect system. You need a sustainable one. Missing a day doesn’t mean you failed. Keep going. I found people who talk about money without shame. Podcasts, YouTube, Reddit — even just a few good accounts on here. Normalizing the convo helped me want to learn. I realized money is just a tool. Not a scoreboard. Not a personality. Not a moral judgment. Just a tool to help build the life you want — one choice at a time. I’m not rich. I still mess up. But I’m in control now. If you’re just starting, keep it simple: ✔️Track your spending ✔️Save what you can ✔️Learn without shame It adds up, I promise 💪

Respect for not gatekeeping. So many people act like you need a 6-figure income to get your sh*t together. This is solid.

#5 is underrated. I fell off my budget for 2 months and almost gave up completely. Progress > perfection always.

This is so real. The "stop avoiding your bank account" one hit hard. I used to log in with my eyes closed đź’€
