Cloud Cartography: $1000 Prize We need maps of the cloud. And Farcaster can start providing those maps, because it's an open state social network. That is: Farcaster's database is public and viewable if running a hub. So here's what I'd like to see: a Python script, hosted at replit.com, that lets you paste in N usernames to generate an in-browser visualization of the social network between those N people, with a slider that visualizes their interconnections as a function of time. As you drag the slider, your code should display various metrics like the number of edges, the adjacency matrix, and the all-pairs-shortest-path matrix (https://coursys.sfu.ca/2020fa-cmpt-307-d1/pages/slides21/view) as a function of time. This will allow you to visualize a network of N people coming together, by connecting, over time. All your code should be open source, your visualizations should be pretty and mobile friendly, and you can add other features so long as you nail the main ones. @bountybot

I think that crypto and tech people are often more pleasant to talk to than average because they have an abundance mindset. There’s a basic cultural expectation that things are going to get better, maybe infinitely better, and they’re β€œbuilding” and β€œearly.” These are things that make one feel a sense of positive anticipation for the future and it reflects in an upbeat culture. I’d say that this is not the case for media or politics people, and they have a far darker worldview and more negative attitude. They’re not really planning or expecting an abundant future because their industry isn’t growth-based. Because their daily jobs are also often focused on analyzing the bad parts of the world they have far more of a poverty mindset that can lead towards depressive thinking and outlook. When these two worlds clash it can produce very hilarious misunderstandings and cultural missed connections. I actually think the ideal is to blend tech-based abundance with critical analysis.

I'm big on Farcaster. Thanks to everyone who followed and helped me reach this milestone in about exactly a month of using the platform. I really appreciate as well as the people who have followed the /dropglobalnews platform. I think this is a great community and I also like playing around with the crypto angle of it through staking, tipping, and earning engagement. As I've mentioned earlier I just like the internet generally and am happy to find people who are doing their best to make it a better place for everyone. I encourage everyone using and building Farcaster to do their best and I'm sure that in the future it will attract a wide audience of users and hopefully be remembered as the first wave of second generation social media platforms that offer users a deeper web of relationships and better structure for consuming information.
