Every season in Japan has its own unique charm, but this time of year is one of the best. The cherry blossoms are blooming, the weather is warming up, and people are out partying. Here are some suggestions for activities.

Meiji Jingu, a shrine near venerable Harajuku. It is easily accessible and good for a short stroll. The back side of the shrine is not allowed to be in the shrine area, but actually many new species of organisms have been discovered. One beautiful Galapagos.

Tokyo Tower. It is a radio tower that became unnecessary after the Skytree Tower was built, but I personally think Tokyo Tower is more atmospheric. It was built after the Eiffel Tower and has a certain nostalgia. Director Anno of Shin Evangelion is also a favorite.

Roppongi, depending on your preference. There are clubs for foreigners. Roppongi is also home to the Mori Art Museum and the New National Museum. If you have a chance, you may be able to see contemporary art.

Mt. Takao. Takao. It is a bit far and requires an early start, but it is the best mountain accessible from Tokyo. You can climb the mountain even with sneakers, and the beer garden on the way is very popular. Unfortunately, the soba (buckwheat noodle) restaurant where Paul McCartney visited is no longer available.
