Farcaster

First impressions:
- we don't post here, we cast
- no videos, why?!
- lots of features, little explanation
- it's refreshing to only see people I follow

Farcaster: Lots of features, little explanation 

I've heard something along these lines from a lot of new and existing users.  There's no easy way for a new user to better understand everything that's possible on Farcaster from frames, warpcast wallet, discovering new accounts/channels, what are warps?, etc

Some of this is just because Farcaster has been iterating and shipping fast but this approach leaves people behind or causes people to feel lost 

I think better documentation, explainers, FAQ for users and devs in a microsite would go a long way to making this better!  @ted

but the tl;dr is that the current user journey to join fc is farcaster.xyz -> app or play store -> create account/FID -> open warpcast and then wonder what to do (newbie sees frames, starter packs, warps, channels and thinks wtf am i supposed to do here)

rethinking the front door to farcaster means have a different entry point for creating a FID, can be something completely unrelated to the main snapchain data/feed

a close parallel might be how apps use privy to give users a wallet via email signup. the downside is that your privy embedded wallet can be used in other places but its a bit of a fragmented experience

if a user plays a game, or even say with my project a user visits lowercase to look up a term and then decides they want to contribute too, they can sign up for a FID directly in that game or my app - their initial reason for signing up is for a very specific/tight use case

once they have a FID they now have access to the whole of FC

There are a lot of cool features that could be easily explained in a short and punchy intro video.

I agree that it would be valuable with some howto/guide/help features! 🎯

Recently I've been struggling with channels, how to become a member of them, and what the difference between a member and a follower is.

Luckily @rev gave me som pointers 🙏
