To me, it’s about these two concepts: the filtration of information and the forging of knowlege over time. Rather than putting energy, time, and attention into notes we never look at again, investing that time & attention into notes that build on one another over time. I actually just migrated all of my notion and Apple notes into obsidian, a markdown editor that I’ve been using for a couple of years. It’s nice to know I don’t have to rely on a cloud system for my notes, since I can have a local, non-proprietary copy in md: Made a video about why I switched too, if you’re interested: Why Obsidian?
