I can’t think of a single strong example. One branch always has an “alt” vibe and is acutely conscious of it.

Hmm I don’t think so. In fact historically a minority. Public= Free citizens shaping grand narrative > women, + slaves etc. in ancient Greece for eg.

Free citizens shaping grand narrative need a primary channel to communicate and broadcast the narrative.
