BYD is now the leading electric vehicle maker in Brazil. They represent 7 out of 10 EVs sold in the country, and now BYD is setting up a plant in Bahia on a site previously used by Ford.

After being in Brazil for a week, I can confirm that there’s a ton of BYD cars around in Brazil

I rode in one the other day and they’re pretty nice

BYD and fellow Chinese electric carmaker CATL both have unveiled battery tech that allows for 300-400km range on a 5 minute charge, effectively replicating the time it would take to fill up with gas

This was one of the biggest hurdles for wider EV adoption and its coming very soon

Where I work the directors get a BYD when they join the company lol

And they have what I call the downtown or london size . You know the sedans that look like half cars 🚗 that you can park easily when downtown :)
