genuine question: but what if the internet is down? like what if there is no connectivity, then you can't technically be "onchain" right? i think about this more than i want to admit

most things in their current state would not work, the rough idea is that you can always fall back to mesh communication and reach your target if you go through enough smaller hops that are not "down" or censored, but that's not deployed in any way you'd be able to use today or next year
