4844 is really insane. 

Just minted an NFT on Base for a fee of $0.0009 USD. This is an *order of magnitude* cheaper than Stripe’s “competitive” rate of 3.25% + 20p per transaction.

It’s getting harder to imagine a future where L2s aren’t pushing aside the trad payment processors.

Honestly the crypto as a payment processor for e-commerce narrative is pretty underrated. Probably the way we get widespread adoption is when all commerce is e-commerce. Then you won’t even need off-ramps.

What’s stopping you from paying for things with crypto today?

no one integrates crypto like they integrate stripe

but if stores and others would integrate a crypto solution instead, it can be a lot cheaper / more lucrative to use it instead

gumroad is a great product example that can be moved onto crypto and scale much faster because of that
