Seems like the Microsoft-OpenAI relationship is less valuable than 18 months ago. A lot more competition for OpenAI (esp. from ex-employees) and then the Microsoft features like CoPilot are getting beat by startups like Cursor from a mindshare standpoint.

It should be a bit concerning that Microsoft's own AI division failed so they were driven to partner with OpenAI and now there are a bunch of alternatives. Also that they came out with likely the first LLM powered code suggestion service yet they failed to capture the market leaving it wide open for Cursor and others. Google was worse though haha they literally invented the damn thing. They are the best vertically integrated but haven't fully taken advantage of it yet. Also they've struggled to productize it.
