Attention is upstream of infrastructure. Own the app layer. Would not be surprised to see app layer acquisitions from Anthropic (Browser Company since Mike K is on the board and CPO at Anthropic) and OpenAI. Cursor <> OpenAI? Or maybe access to frontier models is sufficient to drive installs of homegrown products.

Always has been. Big Tech didn't get big on infra alone. Most of their infra was created to support their products. Not the other way around. Success in product is hard, that's why most are just building and investing in infra.
