The only reason you should build a Warpcast-flavored farcaster client right now is if you have a large pre-existing and external community looking for a new home. If 80% of your features overlap with things warpcast already does, you're gonna have a hard time. Strongest differentiators come down to - Net new community - Orthogonal features that have very low likelihood Warpcast will build them in Warpcast isn't stealing your feature. It's your job to understand Merkle/Warpcast's own product strategy and incentives, then build your product in a way that's symbiotic.

Exactly. Although, I don't even think a pre-existing large community warrants a Warpcast-like client. No community ATM is large enough for that.

I think that there are large enough subreddits that may want to migrate off reddit given the previous drama / censorship. That could be enough reason for the mods to build their own client on FC so they never face the same issue again.

Step 1 will be to get these communities to adopt FC. Step 2 build their own client. I'd love a client with features specific to a vertical. Threads is becoming popular with NBA fans so Meta added score boards features for them. These sort of vertical specific features on FC channels would be cool https://techcrunch.com/2024/03/22/threads-live-scores-sports-games/

The challenge is how does a non-technical community lead of a giant subreddit learn about, and build their own farcaster client for their community? probably not going to happen this present an opportunity for a client-as-a-service platform that builds white-labeled farcaster clients for these new communities. these would feel like separate apps, but overtime people will learn the power of farcaster as the network grows and they start experiencing interoperability and the global follow graph

This weโ€™ve discussed internally multiple times. Truth is that the demand for a client needs to come inherently from these communities. Nouns had put out a request but I donโ€™t think it so enough usage.

Frames + channel pinning is a good way to add custom data for channels. Not as good as native integration but there could be a NBA Score board frame or equivalent.

Yeah I think a linktree/ link in bio tool could also close the loop. For /fbi for instance whatโ€™s relevant is- 1. Our hypersub 2. Our telegram chat 3. FBI labs website Maybe thatโ€™s packaged nicely as a pinned frame.
