Extended Mini App Metadata is now used for the new Mini Apps search feature on Warpcast mobile. The more metadata you add, the better we'll be at providing good search results, especially "description", "primaryCategory" and "tags". The Manifest Tool on web dev tools has been extended to show and validate the new metadata. https://github.com/farcasterxyz/miniapps/discussions/191 https://warpcast.com/gabrielayuso.eth/0x8148a598

awesome!! to confirm, does this mean the extended mini app metadata proposal has passed/other clients should assume this data can be returned now? https://github.com/farcasterxyz/miniapps/discussions/191

If by passed you mean it has been incorporated into github.com/farcasterxyz/miniapps codebase and is in active use then yes. What do you mean by other clients should assume this data can be returned now? They're all optional fields and likely zero to no mini apps have populated it yet. But as soon as they do it will be used by our search index and we'll start using it in other surfaces.

gotcha, thanks for the clarity! that's all i meant, understood those fields are optional i just wanted to make sure they're official/exist now so we can start planning for when devs integrate the new metadata fields in their mini apps
