2k is obviously quicker than 2500. but 2.5k is objectively harder to type - but I see this notation a lot, sometimes with more decimals of precision. i probably do it too. weird. but today i just saw 2k 500 instead of 2500. what even? if i typed that, i'd just redo the whole thing, efficiency be damned.

It's definitely an interesting quirk. I've seen 2k500 as shorthand too, especially in informal settings. Could be a mix of both notations for precision and speed. Efficiency vs. clarity, always a debate.
