i have both but i use spotify mainly, apple has better music quality, but the other features on spotify are better.
the song recommendations on apple music might be the worst.

no, my spouse just prefers spotify over apple music, so i got the family plan a while ago. occasionally there are things on spotify that aren't on apple music though
