what year/genre of music had the most influence on you?

Canadian indie rock (like Metric) which gave way to other independent artists (like Drake, and even US-based Macklemore). I was inspired how they fought for their own audiences and succeeded in an industry controlled by publishers. I fight to do the same in software startups.

dang i didn't even know canadian indie rock was a thing, that's really interesting, id assume arcade fire would fit into that category?
