this incredibly disappointing response from a prominent fc dev on requesting tracking curated streaks rather than raw at the core: are channels communities with taste (which inherently means uplifting some content and ignoring others) or are they simply content aggregators (hashtags)? those of us working to build community beyond "buy my shit" are unsupported by the current meta and it'd be helpful to have the meta clarified. @cameron @jpren.eth @adrienne @ccarella @nounishprof @benna @christin @toadyhawk.eth @matthew @ahn.eth If we're building in a direction that won't be supported, would like to know so i can stop caring so much. from the dev perspective: protocol should be unbiased yes, but app layer works best opinionated, & social layer even moreso. Pls give us tools to highlight folks doing the deal providing conversational liquidity and making the scenius. It shouldn't all be ranks and metrics to determine quality, that gets gamed. even merkle has heavy hand picking "best casters" kthxbye

hey man dont poo poo on me there are plenty of other ways to filter for "non-spammy" cast streaks in a specific channel, which i asked suggestions for using the endpoint you provided to get streaks for Farcaster Studio would (significantly) reduce speed and efficiency to get channel streaks once again, all ears to hear if you have another way to filter for "quality" user streaks, i'm on your side man

not trying to put you specifically on blast man, my apologies i haven't looked at compute but speed of obtaining channel streaks is less important than keeping streaks meaningful streaks are long-term benefit for users, update for streaks only happens every 24 hours already, up to 24 hour delay on streaks updating is much preferable to me as channel owner
