This is an excellent summation of this situation, the one thing it leaves out is that this is how it has always gone. There’s never been an instruction manual, not at least one that contains all of the actual shared experience, tacit knowledge and cultural cohesion that was necessary to put the thing together in the first place.

I always thought that was a supremely naive take, as if the "instruction manual", if followed exactly, would somehow lead to a 10,000 year empire Things change and evolve over time, we have had 3-4 restructurings of the global order since WW2, we must adapt with it
