Welcome gamers π Thought we should have an introductions thread with all the new folks joining the channel What's your name, what games (or game mechanics/genres) do you like, and a little bit extra about yourself (are you building something? love to hear about it!) Vulnerability is cherished here π₯°

Hiβ£οΈ Iβm benna. Games Iβve loved & have stood out in the past year or so: BG3, The Binding of Isaac: Repentance, My Time in Sandrock, and I often go back to ACNH. πΌπ» Not building a game, but iβve been thinking of publishing texts on art games for ages now!

Would love to know more on art games! Also - there are book publishers specialising in art of the games - might want to have a look at Bitmap books for example!

ohh thank you so much for the recommendation!! I have a few books on my list regarding this topic, but always up for adding more to my research :-) glad to hear that the topic of art games interests you! itβs a bit niche, but severely underrated in the art & gaming worlds, I feel.

its never a niche. There is a niche within a niche - also check out this publicaiton -> https://retrogamebooks.com/products/video-game-maps-nes-famicom-ebook there is literally loads on it. While you're right about the "niche", IMHO we're past not many people exploring this or that & its great for learning purposes!

thanks for sharing this!! so cool. My specific interest is artists making games rather than the art in games, if that makes sense haha (tho ofc i love both). This genre is def niche in the art world, but even this is getting more exposure! Iβd still love to see more articles and research on it tho haha.
