MCP stuff has a distinctly crypto flavor in that it’s all about giving LLMs access to your data. But is it really “your” data if it’s still owned and controlled by the vendor? 

Same problem crypto aims to solve where it’s like dang wouldn’t it suck if your LLM bot guy couldn’t access your notion anymore bc notion decided to delete your data

The point being the hype around MCP is maybe an opportunity to get people more interested in data ownership
