i was an Obama guy 2012 (barely too young to vote,) Bernie 2016 (voted Hillary,) Andrew Yang 2020, (didn’t vote.) Trump x Vance is the only way forward if we want a sovereign nation based on individual liberty, freedom of speech, & bodily autonomy

Can you explain the bodily autonomy argument? Having a hard time drawing the line from “overturn roe” to “the only candidate supporting bodily autonomy”

this might turn into to a bit of a novella, few points to cover Roe was an example of judicial activism, in other words, creating law from the bench rather than in the legislature. Even Ruth Bader Ginsburg felt Roe was a mistake, and should have been a state’s rights issue. https://www.law.uchicago.edu/news/justice-ruth-bader-ginsburg-offers-critique-roe-v-wade-during-law-school-visit unfortunately, the Harris campaign and legacy media are outright liars on this issue. what began my political shift in 2020 was having time to sit in the house and watch Trump’s speeches and press conferences instead of listening to what the news said he said was a bit gut wrenching to find out that when he said “there were fine people on both sides,” his very next sentence was “and i’m not talking about the neo-nazis and the white supremacists. they should be totally condemned.” when i had been told for 3 years by the news that he called Nazis fine people 1/n

the more i listened to Trump speak, instead of what the news said he said, the more i found a wide gap between the truth and their reporting, and was shocked to find that even though he’s abrasive, he was making a lot of sense overturning Roe was a correction of our governance system. Congress creates laws, the Executive enacts them, the Courts enforce and check for their Constitutionality. the Supreme Court is not supposed to be making up laws from the bench Trump & Vance have been very clear: this is now a state’s rights issue. if California wants to allow abortions up to 9 months, while that’s a vile aberration imo, they may do so. Vance’s thinking has evolved, they’ve both been clear that they understand that in some circumstances abortion is necessary and that, in their opinion, it should be a rare and sad event unfortunately, 2 decades of Lindsay Graham being a controlled opposition lunatic calling for nationwide bans + the outright lies being told about Trump x Vance leads us here 2/n

the Covid vaccine did not work. we were promised that if you took it, you wouldn’t get Covid. once that was obviously not true, we were told it would prevent you from getting severely ill, which given the serious side effects and injuries that have come out since, was also not true. there also was no long-term safety study, and the data that has been released via FOIA requests in the years since, shows Pfizer and public health officials were aware of it not working and coming with side effects people try to claim no one was forced to take it, yet Biden/ Harris passed executive orders requiring federal contractors, healthcare workers, and military members to take it. many 10s of thousands lost their job personally, having the ability to kill unborn children and face no consequences for promiscuity be left up to the states seem far less of an invasion of bodily autonomy than hinging someone’s livelihood on an experimental, irreversible medication

the arguments and cases presented about women who took an abortion pill and went into sepsis are also dishonestly framed by the left and legacy media every state that has a ban or severe restrictions on abortion allow treatment for miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies. there is no situation where a woman in that situation will be denied life saving health care a known side effect of the abortion pill is sepsis, and when they are given out with little to no guidance or follow-up care, women are left in a precarious position. that legacy media and Left politicians choose to lie when these situations go wrong is unfortunate, arguably dangerous

1. very fine people -- when one side of "both sides" is unite the right, organized and led by white supremacists protesting the removal of a confederate statue, it's pretty hard to view any of those folks as fine people. This is what people are upset about since the "but I don't mean the neo-nazis!" doesn't feel genuine 2. supreme court should be making up laws -- isn't this what happened with trumps presidential immunity case? 3. every state allows treatment for miscarriages -- true but abortion laws that threaten prison time for ending a fetal heartbeat influence how doctors treat pregnancy complications in a very negative way 4. covid -- covid was a global issue that called for immediate response. Sure the vaccine wasn't and isn't a golden cure but it's effective. Otherwise we wouldn't see significantly higher death rates from covid in communities that oppose the vax. plus, nobody is forcing you to take it

i grew up in the South, people have the right to preserve the legacy of their ancestors. to say the Civil War was only about slavery is false. as said before, Trump literally said both neo-nazis and white supremacists should be condemned. that one could watch that speech and find it disingenuous is troubling re: Supreme Court immunity case, no. they said the Constitution clearly provides certain powers to any President and Congress cannot criminalize the President for exercising those powers. Justice Barrett, a Trump appointee, explicitly said that some of the actions presented in that case would not be immune according to their ruling re: heart beat bills. would encourage you to read this cut and dry analysis co-authored by a lawyer and medical doctor rather than what NPR says: https://www.lifenews.com/2023/11/03/every-state-with-an-abortion-ban-allows-treatment-for-miscarriage-and-ectopic-pregnancies-2/
