Great project, my fav palette as well. Perfect example to renew the discussion about generative art mimicking painting techniques 😅

Yeah. I get both sides of that debate. I mean, ok, so maybe we should be more digital, less like another medium. But there’s only so much pixel sorting and moving rectangles one can take! Also, for the artist, there’s the challenge of making something look “painterly”. It’s fun and the results are often very aesthetically pleasing. So what’s a gal to do? 🤷‍♀️

I wasn't serious, Vanessa 😅 You'll find a lot of painterly looking digital works in my collection. I'm absolutely pro diversity and a big fan of many different stilistics. Mimicking traditional or analog techniques is super challenging and the extra effort of applying them to generative art makes it even more special. Also the "natively digital" works I love are also often "retro" in their aesthetic, take Kim Asendorf, Leander Herzog or Andreas Gysin. It has mainly been artists discussing it and I think any discussion is better than just appraisal all the time. Also it might have been a bit out of jealousy as Hobbs, Mappan or Zancan have been quite successful with not being "aesthetically digital".
