I gotta say, it sucks that Goodreads has no public API. 🫤 It would be nice to be able to share on Warpcast, but without an API I can’t imagine a way. Bummer. All that data contributed by the public, locked away by Amazon. 😡

It’s sad, yes. I wouldn’t mind Amazon owning Goodreads as long as there was API access. They did have it at one time. 

I know of no other comparable database of book information. It’s been added to by librarians (including me) for… well, longer than I can calculate. 15 or 20 years?

I wouldn’t be surprised if France had something. Big reading culture. Though I think their publishers are powerful and might have something to say about it.

I'm wondering what this looks like in the non-Anglosaxon world. I'll have to investigate.
