An open secret among people who write large newsletters is how disappointing the community responses are. If you subscribe to a well-known newsletter or blog that asks for feedback, you should respond. There is a very good chance the author will read it and reply.

I think web is largely passive experience when it comes to interacting with a content. This might be due to the default media format evolving from newspapers, books & TV. All of these are single-player, one-way experiences

Even social media where some interactions happen is vastly passive experience. My hope is that new types of media will evolve this towards more interactive end of spectrum. I believe that lots of interesting insights and connections are generated by newsletter readers, and almost all of it stays in their heads.
