Crypto VCs should ask themselves this question: Are you a token investor or a venture investor?

As a founder, I think I'd want my VC to be more of a venture investor than a token investor. Tokens can create diverging alignment between investor and founder in some cases

Sure but more liquidity options usually means more chances at diverging interests and diverging alignment

I think the more important distinction is whether an investor is truly long term and patient or not. That's easily determined by asking around.

totally agreed and i was being (a little!) snarky. :). that said, we’ve all heard plenty of stories from entrepreneurs over the years where, say, the entrepreneur had a very, very good outcome tee’d up and in-hand that would have been very very good for the entrepreneur, and investors pushed for a burn-the-boats 10x or 100x, swing -for-the-fences that never materialized.
