agreed, it's just my pet peeve every time someone says foods are cheap in sg 😵 
i always end up in neigbourhood hawkers, but occasionally splurge on foods like Éla, because it is that good

if you adjust for purchasing power, it’s not bad for any comparable cities - trick is people just need to start eating at hawkers. sg is damn barbell imo, govt makes sure to take care of citizens (expats is different story) so the most of the things are affordable. and Veblen stuff is super expensive.
